Welcome to the website for South Gosforth Social Club.

South Gosforth Social Club has been in its present location for many years, starting off as a club in the original Laburnum Cottage before expanding into its present size. We joined the Working Men's Club and Institute Union (CIU) back on 17th November 1947

The club is supplied by Scottish Courage and carries a range of top class products such as John Smiths, LCL, Carling and Fosters Lagers. Guinness, Real Ale, Northumberland Smooth, McEwans Scotch and Cider are all stocked. We sell quality spirits: Bells, Grouse, Smirnoff, Bacardi and most other popular brands.All of our prices are competitive and are aimed at giving good value for money.

The club opening hours are as follows:

Monday to Thursday:	16:00 - 23:00
Friday:	11:30 - 23:00
Saturday:	11:30 - 23:00
Sunday:	11:30 - 22:30

Affiliates to the CIU are asked to show their CIU cards and sign in. Other visitors have to be signed in to the visitors book.

HALL - BAR - LOUNGE - CONCERT ROOM - GAMES & RAFFLES

Entrance/Corridor. In the entrance  there are Two notice boards showing “WHATS ON”

Gaming Machines: There is a fruit machine,for use only by adults,and a “Lottery” type ticket machine.

Telephone: There is a public pay-phone in the hall

Notice Boards: There are a further two notice boards in the hall, one displaying club information and the other the results of the various raffles and draws.

Bar:

The Bar is for use by adults only – no children are allowed. Here you will find 3 Large plasma TV screens, used mainly for sporting events, a POOL table and a DARTBOARD. Dominoes and playing cards are available from the staff.

Lounge:

The Lounge Bar is usually for adults only but children are allowed at specified times during the week and on Saturdays. There is TV and “Piped Music” in this area. It also features a Large Plasma TV.

Concert Room/Main Hall:

There is live entertainment at weekends see the Entertainment Page for details. When day-time live football matches are shown, on our large 8 foot screen then accompanied children are allowed in. This room is available Monday-Thursday and most Saturdays for private bookings, more detailed information is shown on our Functions page.

Games and Raffles:

Bingo, on a restricted basis, is played on those nights when entertainment is featured. We also have “Number Draws” on these nights. There is a weekly “Lotto Draw, drawn on a Sunday when Bingo also takes place.
